Phone system alleged to have eavesdropped on and recorded calls to attorneys

Two California men once prisoners in San Diego jails are accusing a Texas telecommunications company of illegally recording phone calls between them and their attorneys.

A class action lawsuit was filed May 27 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California against Securus Technologies Inc., alleging invasion of privacy.

According to the complaint, prisoners in the George Bailey Detention Facility and the San Diego County Central Jail had their phone calls to or from their attorneys monitored and recorded by Securus without consent.
